The keys to choosing the proper foot covering are comfort, quality, and durability. Just like with tennis shoes, dress shoes, or sandals, it's important to try on several styles and pairs of work boots before making your final decision. Most work boots run true to size, but comfort levels will vary from brand to brand. One thing to remember: if you are looking for an insulated boot, you may need to consider a boot that is one-half size larger than you would normally wear. That little bit of extra room will allow for a heavier pair of socks to be worn to keep your feet toasty in cold weather conditions.
Here are some general guidelines to consider when choosing your footware.
1) Instep - it is critical that the instep be fitted properly. The boot relies on the instep to secure the boot to the foot, especially if the work boot you're trying on doesn't have laces. The instep fit should be snug, but not uncomfortably tight. Never settle for a loose fit - this could put you at risk for possible injury and blisters from the boot slipping on the foot.
2) Heel - You will experience slight slippage in the heel of a new pair of boots until the sole of the work boot is flexed often enough to finally loosen up the stiffness of the sole. Once it is worn a few times, this slippage will disappear.
3) Ball - The widest part of your foot is the ball, which is where the foot naturally bends when you run or walk. When you're choosing a pair of work boots, the ball of your foot should rest firmly on the ball of the boot. If your toes are shoved forward into the toe box of the boot, you know that the boot is too short and isn't a proper fit for you.
There are other considerations when you are choosing a pair for work. If you work in a hazardous environment, you should look for boots that feature safety toes and Electrical Hazard protection. Do you often have to wade into deep waters? Hip length Wellington style with safety toes might be the best choice for you. Some will extend all the way up to the knee, while others hit mid-calf or right at the ankle. Truly, your choice of work boots depends on the purpose for which you are using them and the style is dependent on the environment in which they'll be worn.
You'll also want to consider the quality of leather from which the boots are manufactured. Take a look at whether you prefer a lace-up style or a pull-on style. Other features, such as the type of insole and color might be important to you.
Some people who wear work boots would include miners, loggers, lab technicians, athletes, fire fighters, hunters, ranchers, park rangers, lineman, light manufacturers, forestry personnel and people who work in the printing industry. No matter what you do for a living or for recreation, there is a work boot that will fit your need. The proper fit is different for each individual, so ultimately; the best fit will be one that only you can determine by trying on several different styles and brand names of work boots.
Keggy has had his share of uncomfortable footware and would like to invite you to visit this website for more information about the Most Comfortable Work Boots.
Top tips for buying shoes
Determine what your shoes are going to be used for. Specialist shoes for a specialist job or fashion shoes just to make you feel and look good. Work boots for protection. Office shoes keep you comfortable throughout the day and hiking boots are a must for your Sunday walks. Slippers to keep you snug at bedtime and tennis shoes for winning Wimbledon! Waterproof, comfortable, supportive or protection, decide what you want your new shoes to do. Some ecco shoes are really comfortable and can be a good all round shoe to take on a weekend away or holiday.
Decide which style of shoes you want. Cool open toed shoes, lined boots to keep you warm or glitzy dress shoes. You will be somewhat governed by the function you need your shoes to fulfill, but some shoes are versatile and can be multi functional. Some sandals can also double as slippers or evening shoes. Some trainers may be used as running shoes or as tennis shoes; you’ll need to check with the manufacturer to find out if they will be suitable for multiple tasks. Some boot shoes will keep you warm as well as looking fashionable with your newest outfit.
Do your new shoes have to accessorise with anything in your wardrobe? Or is it the start of a season and you are restocking your wardrobe with new gear? If you have some clothes from last season then take colours and styles into account when you are looking for your new shoes.
Decide what price you want to pay. Once you’ve set your budget have a look online and see if the amount you’ve allocated is a realistic amount. Shoe prices range massively from company to company and also from supplier to supplier. Check out the sales online or any discount offers the online shoe shops are giving.
Do you need them in a hurry? Check the shoes you choose are in stock in your online store and make sure the delivery times are going to suit your schedule. Sometimes it’s worth paying a little bit extra for a weekend delivery or next day delivery to make sure you don’t miss the post.
Lastly make sure they fit! If there are any tips on sizing for your shoes on the online shop then check them out and pay attention. If the website states the shoes come in small fittings no amount of wishful thinking is going to make those shoes fit a wide foot! Happy shopping!

What are the best shoes for playing tennis?
I need the best shoes that would give me great stablity. I am a female and have pronated feet. I'm also kind of short (5'2") and am 15 years old. I have a small frame but not THAT small. I would also like something that makes it easier for me to shuffle step. I also have a tendancy to come too late to the ball and move too slow with my feet. I would really like something that would help me with that and give me more support. Mabye not something too expensive though.
Where can I go buy it?
(Mabye Lady Foot Locker? More prefferably a store and not online because I want to actually try them on first.)
How do I know it fits me well?
I meant like brands or types of tennis shoes. DUH. I know tennis shoes would be best for playing tennis.
Nike is the best brand, followed by the ones that don't matter nearly as much (Adidas, Puma, whatever else there is). Look at the top 10 rankings for the WTA and ATP rankings. I am quite sure there are some French women that are sponsored by Nike, as are Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
