How long will it take for my finger to completely heal in the PIP joint area?
I broke my middle finger wrestling around after going to the hospital and to my ortho doctor he descibed my fracture as the Proximal phalanx base fracture with dorsal angulation and I had to get surgery with 3 pins put in to hold the bone in place. i had the surgery on Jan. 20th I had my pins in until Feb 21st I began physical therapy on Feb 28th and my finger straightens out fine and when we are excercising my finger goes don completely but my PIP joint seems to be stuck in one position I will work it to a certian degree and as soon as I take an interval between excercises the finger returns to its original position.
is this going to be a lifetime injury? I would like to know because I am a softball player and I wanted to know how long I will have to deal with this.
