Are you tired of the plain look of the interior of your car? If you are, there are some simple and inexpensive changes you can make. These will end the boredom of the stock look and give your car a new appearance.
One of the places you can start is with a cover for your steering wheel. Most standard cars come with a cheap looking piece of plastic. Almost every car has a black steering wheel, regardless of how the rest of the interior is dressed out.
At one time a wood steering wheel was a touch of elegance and sportiness. Now few people can afford this luxury replacement. Next was a steering wheel wrapped in leather, again mostly black in color. The last option is to cover the wheel in leather, but with a choice of colors. This the one I'm recommending.
In addition to dressing up your car, a cover will also hide any wear or damage that may have occurred to your steering wheel.
There are several manufacturers who make these products. Each one offers a pallet of different colors, so you have a wide choice and can find exactly what would look best with the interior of your car.
Some points to keep in mind. First you will have to install the better ones, and it takes about an hour. The real cheap ones have elastic and you can just slip them on in a minute or so. You will not enjoy having one of these, so I can't recommend them at all.
Second, insist on leather. It gives you a better look. It is also warmer in winter when the temperature drops. You don't want to freeze your hands to the steering wheel. Leather also gives you a better grip, and this is important from a safety standpoint.
Third, make sure that the product was designed and sized specifically for your car. You should be able to order one based on the make, year and model of your car. One size does not fit all.
If you have replaced your steering wheel or have a usual car reputable manufacturers will ask you to measure the diameter of the wheel and the circumference of the widest part of the wheel. They should have at least half dozen different sizes in stock and the capability of custom making one, if the need arises.
Fourth, check to see if your car has a cover on the wheel already. If it does, you can either remove it, or you may have to order one size larger to get a better fit.
And finally, you do not have to stick with one color. Some companies offer a "Euro" style cover which has one color for the top and bottom, and another color for the sides. Very unusual looking and it really stands out, and separates you from the pack.

Hair Dye: Color Fiend?
I bought two packs of temporary Color Fiend hair dye from Hot Topic. I have brown hair, it is not bleached. The colors are dark blue and royal purple. Which one will show up? Will they show up at all? Thanks!
Despite the advice above, *don't* bleach your hair and dump color on top of it, unless it is specifically designed as a toner for bleached hair. If you go very light and put another color on top, your hair will grab the base color that goes into the shade you put on, and you'll get a result that will make you unhappy. I used to work for a major haircolor hotline, and I used to jokingly call it the Green Hair Line, which gives you an idea. Even if your hair is very dark, it should show up as a blue cast or purple cast (which might not be as strong as you want, but is way better than an ugly accidental color). And just because it's temporary, that doesn't mean it would be if put over bleached hair.
I'm not familiar with the specific brand or what non-hair-color dyes do, because that isn't what I was trained for, but I remember the basics of what goes wrong, and I talked to unhappy people every day of that job.
Call the toll-free hotline on the dye package and ask them this question. If that company is like the one I worked for, you'll get someone who's had *weeks* of classes and knows their product.
