Table tennis like any other serious competitive sport requires quality in terms of the equipment being used by each player regardless of whether or not you're enjoying a leisure game with friends or participating in professional competitions and leagues.
So when looking for trusted and well-known equipment brands you can be sure you'll encounter a few of the names mentioned here.
Take for instance Butterfly, a company that was founded in 1950 in Yanai city, Japan, by a man named Hikosuke Tamasu. Today it produces some of the finest and most trusted equipment by enthusiasts and professional from all over the world. Another brand synonymous with table tennis today is STIGA. They've been successfully creating, designing, and manufacturing quality bats, blades, rubbers and everything else related to the game for more than half a century now.
When continuing on the journey to finding great brands, you'll be sure to run into JOOLA. Pronounced "YOH-LAH," this German based company has also been building a fine reputation for itself in all things related to the tabletop game since the 1950's. By including German and foreign top players in their designing process, they pride themselves with the ability to understand what athletes look for in exceptional equipment.
If you see a Giant Dragon flying around in the sky, or more specifically on the rubber that has just ripped a forehand smash back at you, you've had the luxury of being in the presence of the Giant Dragon Stationary & Sporting Goods Co., ltd. Although their tradition in this game doesn't reach as far back as some of its direct competitors, they still makes some good quality equipment. Keeping in line with Asian heritage is Double Happiness, which is a brand that has been long revered for making high caliber products and is known worldwide.
TIBHAR was founded in 1969. The name itself combines the first and last name of Tibor Harangozo, an internationally known table tennis coach and former player, and the company has been steadily developing its fine reputation and tradition of delivering world-class table tennis products all over the world.
Killerspin is an American based company with its headquarters located in Chicago Illinois. It recognized the growing popularity of the sport of table tennis within the United States and throughout the world and produces premium quality table tennis products. Rounding out the list, and certainly last but not least are two brands that any table tennis aficionado should pay attention to: ANDRO and DANDOY, which are both leading producers of well respected table tennis equipment.
After finding yourself some trustworthy and reliable equipment to hone your skills with, you may run into some trouble finding a practice mate that shares your enthusiasm. So why not look into a practice partner that never gets tired?
Try training with a robot! Finding a good training robot takes more than just buying a machine that's going to propel balls across your table. There are many elements to consider when choosing a training robot such as: Is the head adjustable? How many different angles of spin can it replicate? Will it produce lob shots? What is its maximum velocity? Is there a remote control, and can it be programmed?
After having considered all the possible combinations and key elements necessary for your own specific training needs, you'll definitely not want to miss out on a brand like NEWGY, which produces a line of quality training robots known as the Robo-Pongs. These particular practice machines have been carefully designed and engineered since 1972, and Newgy proudly delivers top-notch table tennis training machines that offer fully digital controls and a variety of programmable options.
SMARTPONG offers some well-designed and quality machines as well. They offer a fully computer-automated table tennis robot that gives users the ability to control the practice machine through a wireless remote. Their automatic ball recycling system also makes practicing for extended periods of time an easy and fun task.
Another table tennis training robot brand option is PRAKTTISMATE. This particular brand should definitely be thoroughly considered because it offers users the ability to practice returning loops without any spin, not to mention its four minute set-up time from start to finish. The various programmable options also add to the allure of this wonderful practice robot that delivers a total package.
So be thorough when conducting your own research on table tennis equipment, and try to find the brands that best suit your needs, skill set, and goals.

Tips and Advice for a Ping Pong Beginner
Perhaps you have just bought a ping pong table for your basement family room, or have one in a local rec center. You may have been playing for years, but still need to improve your game. Ping pong is a lot of fun, a good family activity, and even better exercise than you might think. Several components can help you to play ping pong well, successfully, and help you to win those tough ping pong competitions. Many of us think of ping pong as a fun family activity, but it is a sport, with rules and challenges, as well as its own set of skills.
The first thing that can help you succeed at ping pong is to be in good physical and mental condition. While ping pong is not as physically strenuous as some activities, it does require that you be quick on your feet and with your ping pong paddle. A typical exercise program with daily activity will help you to improve your ping pong game and keep you healthier all around. Good mental focus will also help you do well at ping pong. Much of the time, if you lose a game in which you began with a strong lead, the problem was not your game, but your mental focus and energy. Do relax, and avoid putting too much thought into your game. Quick reactions are critical.
Play on the offensive, not the defensive. A successful ping pong player works hard to keep their opponent playing a defensive game to get the best scores and win the game. If you find yourself playing a defensive game of ping pong, hit a deep slice shot into the table. This will force your opponent onto the defensive and allow you to improve your game.
Work on both your backhand and your forehand strokes, and make sure you have good form and posture. Watch your opponent’s racket to predict where their shots will land. This will improve your chances of a successful shot when the ball hits your side of the ping pong table. Practice your serve, as this is the most important part of your game to get down pat.
What is the most important tip for any ping pong beginner? It is really very simple. Have fun and enjoy the ping pong game. If you play for fun, you will find your game improving and your skills improving.

Do they sell a pool table/ping pong table that is full size?
you know. one of those that you can like flip around. it has to be a full size pool table and a full size ping pong table. my parents want to turn a extra room into a game room. we cant agree on a pool table or ping pong table. the room is NOT big enough for both. so is there? if so where can we get one?
Pool tables come in different sizes, the largest is known as a 9-foot table and the playing surface is 100 x 50 inches. A table tennis table is ~107 x 60 inches. It might be possible to just get a table tennis top and put it on top of the pool table when you want to play, just be sure not to get to much dirt or wood chips on the pool table.
Most of the convertible tables I've seen are smaller (6 or 7 foot pool tables). I'm not sure how big the table tennis top is in this case. Either way, these tend to be lower quality and won't last as long, but they'll be cheaper (see link 2).
TOPIO is a robot developed by TOSY that can play ping-pong
It’s not as tedious or pricey as one may think. EDWIN WONG shows you how IN the 60s, The Jetsons, a prime-time animated sitcom set in a futuristic utopia (in the year 2062) of aliens, holograms and whimsical inventions, were among the first to popularise robots and elaborate robotic contraptions.
