Halloween, which comes from the word All Hallows Eve, is tied directly to All Saints Day celebrated on Nov 1, to commemorate the old saints who have past on. These saints were heroes or martyrs for the Christian faith. Today we celebrate Halloween by allowing ourselves and our children to dress in costumes and go door to door asking for tricks or treats. This holiday is far from spiritual and doesn't include God as its main focus. The Bible doesn't directly speak about Halloween, but it gives us guidelines to follow. In Exodus 22:18, Acts 8:9-24 and Acts 16, 19, the bible clearly tells us that pagan practices, such as: witchcraft, sorcery or occults, are to be avoided.
As Christians we shouldn't allow ourselves or our children to participate or dress in costumes in relation to these practices. So how do we incorporate God in a holiday that praises the world and still allow our children to have fun? Here are 3 ways to put God back into Halloween:
1. Encourage your church to hold a "Harvest Party" that night instead. As a parent, you may feel safer if your child is inside and away from danger. This can also encourage parents to invite neighbors to join them as a safe alternative for their family. A fall themed decor can be used and kids can have fun bobbing for apples, having wheel barrel races and sing a longs. Parents can use this time to minister to other parents with a short devotional.
2. You can have a "Trunk or Treat" in your neighborhood community. The children all dress up in non-evil costumes and participate in activities and games agreed upon. You can even have costume contests, like "most creative", "biggest-fanciest hats", or "best make up", etc, and prizes are awarded for the winners. The adults park their cars in the parking lot with trunks open and the children go to each car and say "Trunk or Treat" and each adult can hand out treats and bible scriptures from their trunk! This idea promotes a safe and fun-family environment. And spreads God's word at the same time!
3. Having a skate party at your local skating rink or park can be another idea for Halloween. Adults and kids can dress up in non-evil costumes and skate the night away! Your church family and neighborhood can come together and skate to Christian music, with food and treats available as well. Parents will become inspired by God's word in song and get a little bit of exercise at the same time!
These are just a few ideas your neighborhood or church family can use. There can be many more Christian based themes we can come up with, if we put our minds to it. As long as we put God first and pray that His will is done in our lives, then our children can have fun and God will be praised at the same time!

Best Game Room Accessories
So, you've built your game room. You have the bar, the refrigerator and the furniture. You have the pool table or card table. It still doesn't seem quite right? What's missing? Accessories. What are the best game room accessories that will give that bland game your personal touch? The possibilities are endless. That's what makes the task difficult. Here is a list of potential adornments, decorations, dressings, accents, frills and doodads that may spice up that game room and give it that personal touch that can only come from you.
Decorations
One popular way to decorate the game room is thematic. Do you have a favorite sports team, rock band or movie genre? Movie posters are attractive and fashionable. Signed prints by actors can be impressive. Sports memorabilia is also a common way to spice up a game room. Autographed bats, balls, trading cards, player pictures and game worn equipment adorn many a game room wall. Some people even adorn their walls with old license plates and street signs. Theme is the name of the game when decorating.
Dressings
Cotton candy machines, popcorn carts and snow cone machines will dress up any game room. Gum and candy machines can also be used to spiff up an otherwise dull game room. There is something about the taste of a snow cone or fresh popped carnival popcorn that adds that certain flavor to a well accessorized game room.
Frills
Most game rooms will have a central area containing a card table, pool table or other central game. It is important however, to include some ancillary games as well. One very popular choice is a dart board. This can be a very simple cork dart board with steel darts and a chalk board for keeping score to a modern electronic dart board that will keep score automatically and uses much safer plastic tipped darts. Other dressing can include video games. Arcade style games are popular as well as the less expensive game consoles which connect to a TV.
Accents
Items that are functional as well as conversational are considered accents. A wooden statue that doubles as a bottle opener, an electronic card shuffler, a lava lamp, a flashing neon sign and a talking cuckoo clock are all examples of accents. Anything that serves a useful purpose and makes your guests say, "hey, that's cool" will keep your friends talking about your game room for days.
Doodads
Doodads are similar to accents in that they 'are cool'. Doodads however may serve no other purpose than that. They are usually small things like a talking fish on the wall, a whoopee cushion or a rubber chicken. Browse through any novelty store and you'll find hundreds of possibilities for your game room. Once again, remember it's your game room and people should get a sense of your playful personality just from being there. Games are fun and your game room should be fun as well. Just let yourself go. Frivolity and laughter are the key elements to successfully accessorizing your game room.

Shop front signage....?
I am trying to get some ball park figures on the average costs involved to install a shop front sign, i have searched on line, but to no avail.
They all seem to evade the all important info when advertising their services.
It will help when offering my Business plan to the bank, i do not yet have the retail shop as yet, so it's quite difficult to offer dimensions etc, to a sign company for a firm quote.
Many thanks in advance.
PS: I require a typical high street shop front fascia sign.
Budget in about £1500 for a good one including fitting.
Hoop for cash this Sunday
Basketball players will be able to cash in if their team wins a five-on-five street ball tournament this Sunday at the Agana Heights gym.
Thanks for visiting!

I think you are completely right about the decor. I rented a room in a house with a game room. One of the girls worked for a media store, and would bring home the movie posters that they had on display previously. It was a great way to spice up the room.
