The weekend, notably Sunday, Saturday to a lesser extent, when more people are off work and using their computers, is the best time to end an auction in expectation of high visitor levels and greater chance of a bidding frenzy for your listings.
I find Sunday evening, 6 pm onwards, is the optimum time for me and many other prolific UK sellers.
So, for a seven day listing, surely that means spending all weekend photographing and describing items to sell seven days hence? While other people are off work?
Not so, you can in fact work just a few days, Sunday not included, and still have all sales end Sunday at a precise time that suits you best.
This is how:
* Using Turbo Lister you can list as many items as you wish and upload to eBay at leisure, in this case round about 6pm on Sunday evening. Obviously, the more items uploaded this way, the longer it takes, and you might find uploading one thousand items, starting 6pm takes you way beyond next week's 6pm sale ending deadline. First week is unpredictable, next week start uploading earlier to meet that 6pm deadline.
* Use 3, 5, 7 or 10 day auctions according to days you list items. So if you're listing Saturday and Sunday, use 7 day auctions, they'll end next weekend. Monday and Tuesday use 5 day auctions, again ending Saturday or Sunday. Wednesday and Thursday use 3* or 10 days auctions, again for weekend finishes. Fridays don't fit the plan, and one day auctions are generally too short for all but perishable and really hot selling items. *Three day auctions aren't always a good idea either, so test carefully, or use ten day listing instead.
* The biggest bonus of all listings ending together is that you can plan your week more profitably, visiting auctions, checking suppliers, fulfilling orders, without having to be home every day answering last minute questions from last minute bidders.
NOTE: This article, written for UK readers, is equally important for eBay sellers worldwide, who sell mainly in their own country. International sellers should consider the effect international time differences may have on their listings, especially for last minute bidding. For example, 6pm in the UK is mid day to mid afternoon in most parts of America, and the middle of the night in Australia. From experience I end my auctions according to my most likely target market. So if I'm selling vintage postcards of Australia, I'd end the auction early morning in the UK (afternoon in Australia); auctions for USA postcards would end late evening in the UK, about ten o'clock, close to mid day or afternoon in America.

It's Never Too Late To Pay Tribute to a Loved One -
Marshfield, MA -- New England Burials At Sea, (NEBAS) has recently launched a new service and website to help bring closure to families who wish to honor their loved ones with a BELATED BURIAL at Sea (www.belatedburials.com).
The vast majority of cremations never have a proper, dignified "celebration of life" burial ceremony. Company founder Captain Brad White recently announced a new service now offered at NEBAS - the Belated Burial – a memorial ash scattering that pays tribute to a loved one when a family is still holding onto their cremated remains and not knowing how to put them to final rest.
According to Capt. White, "Typically, during the first year following cremation, the remains are placed proudly on the fireplace mantel. As the years go by, the remains are eventually moved to the hallway closet behind a tennis racquet and by year five, or even year 10, someone has an epiphany that a burial at sea or other 'celebration' would be a great final and proper tribute."
NEBAS is the best known company in the USA for sea burials and it uses only properly insured and licensed captains with current U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) certifications who only use clean, safe and up to date vessels from Maine to Miami as well as San Francisco to San Diego. Vessels vary from vintage Maine down east style to sport or luxury level vessels accommodating up to 400 people.
NEBAS Burials at sea are legal, approved per USCG and EPA regulations and are easy to plan. For ash scatterings, NEBAS voyages out three nautical miles and the family scatters their loved ones cremated remains with a customized sea tribute service and returns to port all within about three hours. Traditional Ash Scattering rates include an official parchment sea burial certificate marking the latitude and longitude of a loved ones' final resting place and start at $495.00. NEBAS also offers full body ocean burials with their patent pending organic Atlantic Sea Burial Shroud®

I own a vintage gut strung tennis racquet. Are there any UK specialists capable of restringing it?
The racquet is wooden, rare and quite valuable so I will need a true 'specialist' rather than a typical High Stree sports shop. Must be UK - preferable South East
I don't live in the UK,But I'm a member of The Tennis Collectors of America.I may be able to come up with a few ideas.
There is a German named Siegfried Kuebler who is probably the world's foremost expert on tennis rackets. He might be able to refer you to a vintage racket specialist in the UK.
His email is siegfried.kuebler@t-online.de
You can try the string forum website. They might know of someone who can string a vintage racket.

There is a great dealer of tennis books in England,Alan Chalmers.
He has a store called the tennis bookshop. He may know someone who can help you.His email is on the site.

I collect rackets, and have done cleaning and repairs on them.I have really learned by doing it myself. Best wishes on finding a good stringer.
