If you are a serious ping pong player then you would know how expensive a table tennis table is. If you own one then it's quite natural for you to protect it; especially if you have children around. Most ping pong table surfaces are made of wood. But you also get them in metal such as aluminum and some of them have laminated construction.
If you plan on keeping your ping pong table outdoors then it makes all the more sense to protect it. You need to protect it with a table tennis cover. You can get many different types of covers. You can choose from durable PVC material that is weather resistant. These are perfect for outdoor tennis tables. They also are U.V. stabilized which gives the table extra protection from the sun.
When you're buying a table tennis cover, make sure they fit well. It helps to have a snugly fitted cover as it gives little or no room for dust, dirt and other materials and even moisture to enter the table surface. These covers also help to give your table tennis table a longer life, free from all defects such as scratches that could ruin the feel of the game.
If you live in a high humidity area then it helps to buy a table tennis cover that is made of tough synthetic fiber. This will provide protection from dampness as well as dust and dirt. Most table tennis covers fit all makes of ping pong tables, but there might be some tables which need customized covers.
If you want your table to last long and protect it from damage then you need to get a very durable table tennis cover. A nylon cover will last for years and it also looks great if you have your table tennis table on display.
You can choose from many different colors and shades of table covers that will go along with your home decor or the feel of your recreation room. Also you have a wide variety of materials to choose from.
One more important factor to consider before buying ping pong table covers is of course the size of your table. Since table tennis tables come in various sizes, you need to buy a cover that fits your table well. An over-sized cover for a small ping pong table will be of no use as it will allow dust, dirt and other particles to enter the surface of the table.
Likewise a small cover for a large table would be a total mismatch and would do no good to protect the ping pong table. Another thing to consider when buying a ping pong cover is the quality; the higher the quality the better. A good quality cover will last long and protect your table and help prolong its life and look.

Kiawah Tennis Resort in South Carolina
Kiawah Island Golf Resort
Kiawah Island, South Carolina
May 1, 1976 Grand Opening of Kiawah Island Resort
Kiawah Island Resort opened on the weekend of May 1, 1976, and a professional tennis exhibition was a part of the activities. Roscoe Tanner, Kiawah’s touring professional and then-ranked in top 10 in the world, played Tom Gorman in a singles exhibition. Director of Tennis Roy Barth, and Local Pro Bob Joyner played in the doubles exhibition with Gorman and Tanner, whose career highlights included winning the Australian Open.. The West Beach Tennis Club opened with seven clay courts and two lit hard courts.
Nearly a quarter century after the first condominiums went up on Kiawah, the island's glorious 10-mile-long beach remains a nesting ground for endangered loggerhead turtle and its protected wilderness still provides a home for deer, raccoons, and more than 200 species of birds. But make no mistake about it: civilization has arrived in a big way. Though planned to be unobtrusive, two resort villages, five golf courses, two racquet clubs, a new 255-room hotel, and more than 1,000 villas and some 1,300 private homes now trail through a landscape where once there was only woods and marsh.
Kiawah has two tennis facilities, the Roy Barth Tennis Center in East Beach and the West Beach Racquet Club, which ensures that none of its hotel or villa guests will be very far from a court. Both are under the direction of former touring pro Roy Barth. West Beach lies half hidden by trees just across the road from the now closed Kiawah Island Inn. It has 14 Har-Tru courts, one of which can be used as a stadium, and 2 lighted hard courts. The Roy Barth Tennis Center, farther down the island, sits amid a halo of tennis villas four minutes on foot from the beachfront Sanctuary hotel. It has an even dozen courts altogether, 9 Har-Tru and 3 hard. It was here that the Fed Cup matches were played in the spring of 1998, as were the U.S. Clay Court Championships in 1990. It has the larger pro shop and is further distinguished by having one of its hard courts dedicated to a self-feeding ball machine capable of spewing balls at a rate of 1,200 per hour. At both clubs, however, the courts form a semicircle around the weathered wood pro shop, whose decks provide a comfortable place to watch the action. Winding paths through pine trees lead to courts variously bordered by palmettos, pampas grass, oleander and flowers. Each pair of courts has access to a awning-covered patio offering shade, benches, and an electric water fountain.
This South Carolina tennis resort has a wide range of instructional programs catering to every level of skill, and to every member of your family or group, including daily clinics, drills, and private instruction - all at preferred rates to resort guests. Director of Tennis, Roy Barth brings his outstanding reputation as a professional player and skills as a gifted teacher to every tennis program at Kiawah Island Golf & Tennis Resort.

Last Grand Slam winner with wood tennis racquet?
Who was the last male and female player to win a Grand Slam title with a wood tennis racquet? Who, when, where and with what racquet?
Thx, JAVV, youre great!
On women's side?
OK, ty again
1-The last male player to use a wooden racquet and win a major was YannicK Noah of France who won the French open 1983 using a wooden racquet named Le coq Sportif TCO, remember Noah is the last player male or female to win a major using a wooden racquet.
2-Among female players though i am not 100% sure but it has to be Chris Evert winning who the Australian open 1982, and French open 1983, using a wooden racquet, Wilson Chris Evert Pro Staff, remember Australian open was held in december back then and was the last slam of the year.
Chris Evert had a great 20-3 record against Martina navratilova and dominated every one as long as the game was played with wooden racquets.
However as soon as Martina Navratilova switched to the metalic Yonex R-7 racquet, she started dominating Evert and had a 13 match win streak against her, from 1983 to 1985
Evert on the other hand carried on with her wooden racquets for a couple more years, this could be because she used a metal racquet in an exhibition match against Pam Shriver and lost the match, therefore she wasnt comfortable with the metal racquets to start with, but her defeat at the hands of after Martina Navratilova 6–1, 6–3 in the the Us open 1983 final brought a change of mind and she too switched to metal racquet named PS85.
As most dominant players of the 80s had switched to metal racquets before 1983 evert winning The US open 1982, and French open 1983 with a wooden racquet has to the last such case.
Now taking in to cnsideration that Noah is the last player male or female to win a major using a wooden racquet, and it happened at french open 1983, we have to look at majors before that to find the answer for ladies tennis.
Navratilova won 3 majors in 1983, Australian open Wimbledon and US open, the only major between US open 1982 and French open 1983 is the Australian open 1983, that was won by Martina Navratilova using metal racquets.
As Chris Evert also won the French open 1983, and turned to metalic racquets after losing to Navratilova in US open final 1983, its safe to say she was the last female player to win a major using a wooden racquet.
